Wonderful
things happen when the Lord's servants interact together in
His presence.
The common vocational bond with its unique stresses, hazards,
and sometimes painful wounds, provides an arena in which care,
encouragement, acceptance, and affirmation are openly exchanged
between retreat participants. Many participants freely laugh
and cry with one another in the group process. Along the journey
as the participants get to know each other and become more
comfortable with each other, the pastoral counselor will interject
brief interactive teaching times that examine ministry stresses
and hazards that may be impairing ones' vital relationships.
All this is facilitated in an orderly, professional, Christianly
manner.
The
group time ends around noon each day with a simple lunch
meal together at the MLC facility.
Most
afternoons and evenings you will have free time to spend as
you wish. Some will meet individually and/or as a couple with
our pastoral counselor. Others may wish to engage in proactive
rest by participating in the abundant seasonal recreational
opportunities available in the June Lakes and Mammoth Lakes
area. Your private suite in the adjacent lodge near the MLC
facility has a fully equipped kitchen for your evening and
weekend meal convenience.
