Wonderful
things happen when the Lord's servants interact together in
His presence.
The common vocational bond with its unique stresses, hazards,
and sometimes painful wounds, provides an arena in which care,
encouragement, acceptance, and affirmation are openly exchanged
between retreat participants. Many participants freely laugh
and cry with one another in the group process. Along the journey
as the participants get to know each other and become more
comfortable with each other, the pastoral counselor will interject
brief interactive teaching times that examine ministry stresses
and hazards that may be impairing ones' vital relationships.
All this is facilitated in an orderly, professional, respectful
manner.
The group time ends with a delicious home style lunch together.
During many of your afternoons and evenings you will have free time to spend as you wish. Our destination resort area offers an abundance of activities and beautiful sights to enjoy. On appointed afternoons, you will meet individually and/or as a couple with the pastoral counselor to facilitate life-long development and life-giving growth. The counseling hours break down to approximately 30 hours of group work; two to six hours of individual work; and four to six hours of couple work, depending on the nature of the issues to be processed.
You are on your own for your evening meal. You may want to prepare your own dinner with the fully equipped kitchen in your suite, or eat out at many of the fine restaurants (cafes to five star dinner houses) located in the June Lake-Mammoth Lakes area. The ministry provides a comprehensive visitor guide to assist you in all aspects of recreation and dinning opportunities. |
